Human Resources Manager – Annette Gibson
Annette joined NDUC as HR Manager in September 2010. Annette has held several senior management roles in both private industry and public authority and has significant experience in the areas of resourcing and organisation design and development. She has an MA in Strategic Human Resource Management gained at Durham Business School.

Head of Finance (Vocare Group) Brian Pankiw
Brian is a Chartered Management Accountant. Prior to joining us from Orchard Information Systems where he was a Financial Controller he worked for Pilkingtons and Sanofi.

Head of Governance (Vocare Group) Karen Taylor
Karen is a qualified nurse and has a law degree from the University of Northumbria and joined us from Newcastle University.

Group Practice Manager (Vocare Group) Ed Hind
Ed is an experienced practice manager and joined us from Prospect House Medical Group. Ed is a graduate in Business Studies from University of Northumbria.

Head of Clinical Services (NDUC) Alan Maguire
Before joining NDUC as Head of Clinical Services, Alan has worked with NDUC in GP OOH as a sessional GP for many years. He is a GP trainer and a GP partner at the Branch End Surgery in Stocksfield, Northumberland.

Clinical Services Manager (NDUC) Carolyn Leslie
Carolyn is a qualified nurse and has significant experience in primary, secondary care, and the independent sector with a global pharmaceutical company. Since qualifying as a nurse Carolyn has focused on improving the quality of patient care and has held senior nursing positions in Burns, Anaesthetics & Recovery, Respiratory and at national level implementing a nurse led cardiovascular clinical and educational programme. Prior to joining NDUC Carolyn supported the development and implementation of a national improvement programme which was piloted in the north east to tackle healthcare associated infections in care homes.

Barbara Cochée – Head of Service Development.
Barbara joined NDUC in 2006 as Training Manager, and became Head of Service Development in 2008. Her background has been quite varied, initially training as a nurse (RGN) at the RVI in Newcastle, followed by various staffing positions in A&E, Neurosurgery, Haematology and Gynaecology.
During this time she studied Social Work and qualified from the University of Durham. Following a move to Los Angeles California she spent 10 years living and working as a Registered Nurse there.
On return to English soil, she worked for some time at NHS Direct whilst studying for the Post Graduate Certificate in Education (Adults) and subsequently became involved in training and staff and service development, moving to NDUC in 2006.

Head of Service Delivery (NDUC) Petrina Smith
After graduating in Health Studies from University of Sunderland, Petrina joined the NHS. Prior to joining NDUC she was Regional Operations Manager of NHS Direct and is currently studying for an MBA at Northumbria University.

Social Care Direct Kim Simpson
A PQSW qualified social worker Kim was manager of Northumberland’s Emergency Duty Team before establishing Social Care Direct.
Northern Doctors Medical Services Adele Symm
Prior to joining NDMS, Adele worked for NDUC in numerous operations roles after a career in sales.
